Problems
Once started, unlike tablet weaving, it is difficult to stop and take a break from braiding before it is finished. However, the speed of the technique means that most braids don't take long.
Small diameter threads can cut into the fingers a little: if this is a problem, then using wider diameter and softer threads (like 2 ply wool) works well. Dropping threads occurs to everyone, although it's easy to pick up loops and start again without noticing a fault in the finished piece.
